Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Blue Box Disposables GB Ltd (T/a Blue Box Socks and using the brand name: Blue Box GB) is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2035.This is the first baseline year of reporting by Blue Box Disposables GB Ltd.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

To continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 40 tCO₂e by 2030. This is a reduction of 53%.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects will be completed or implemented after the 2025/26 baseline.

• BBGB Ltd has installed Solar panels to reduce carbon emission for office space.

• BBGB currently uses 1 hybrid-electric car and 1 petrol car.
• BBGB uses biodegradable packaging for all sock packaging.
• BBGB uses recyclable cardboard for all packaging.
• BBGB uses DPD for most deliveries because the company has reduced its emissions by 43.6% compared with its 2020 baseline.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

• BBGB proposes to ensure all packaging will be plastic free and biodegradable for all products by 2030.
• BBGB plan to replace the current petrol vehicle with an electric car by 2027.
• By 2035, BBGB aim to discontinue use of gas heating and will use heat pump technology for all heating of offices.
• BBGB will work with our delivery partners to support maximal carbon reduction emissions from freight, third-party carriers, and shipping.

BBGB have used the SMART CARBON website (SmartCarbon Calculator: https://www.smartcarboncalculator.com/) and this has estimated emissions within Scope 3. We aim to work with our distribution partners to reduce these Scope 3 emissions during the coming years.

Declaration and Sign Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard[1] and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting[2].

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard[3].

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
